LOCAL LEADER SPOTLIGHT

Rob Kelly
President and CEO of the For Charlotte Mission Network
CHARLOTTE, NC

Q: What do you love about Charlotte?
A: God has blessed me with a deep love for my city.  I love the people of Charlotte.  I am deeply burdened for the brokenness and division in Charlotte.  And I love what God is doing to bring healing and unity in Charlotte.

Q: What has been your most successful approach to engaging your network of churches in the Bible?
A: In 2018, we are very excited about how God is leading His church to a deeper unity as they engage both His Scriptures and His mission together.  We are excited to launch our State of the City Report in February 2018, which will overview the primary missional needs of our city, while laying the Biblical foundations for why Christ's church should be engaging these needs.  We are also very excited about our partnership with American Bible Society, as we mobilize churches to do a unified sermon series about Christ's mission in our city, while engaging all the members of each participating church in a unified Bible study, that will accompany the sermon series.

Q: What Scripture verse encourages you in your ministry?
A: The driving Scripture verse that gets me up in the morning is the High Priestly prayer of our Lord, specifically in John 17:20-23:
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me."
